YEAAAAAH! Done
The most important thing I learned that this is all possible!!! Wow what an array of things that can be done by almost anyone if the desire is there.
Since I didn't really get into this until the last 2 weeks or so the most challenging for me was getting started. The anticipation and fear factors were huge as I didn't feel I could give this the time I needed to complete the project but what a relief and an exciting ride it has been.
I am sure BPL staff who participated are going to come up with some very innovative ways to use many of these technologies. Certainly Google docs, delicious, librarything etc have readily appropriate applications in helping the library and staff work more efficiently in the day to day operation of the job. We need to keep using our learned knowledge so that it doesn't fade away.
We are already using facebook and have video on Youtube so these won't be hard to continue especially for promotion purposes.
What a nice way to have training presented to so many by so few. It was great to progress at your own speed but yet have help just a question away.
Many thanks for the experience!!

#10 Facebook
This is like having another social life but virtually. You may be connecting with people all over the globe that you may never see but have similar interests or things in common. If you have a portable device to access your facebook account you technically would never be lonely. However not sure if I would use this tool very much as life is busy enough for me.

#9 Librarything
http://www.librarything.com/catalog/sparkles50
We could use librarything for another way to do "staff picks" or for book discussion groups already established to continue connecting outside of the meeting times. We could establish genre or subject specialists librarything accounts for public or community groups to interact.

Task #7 - Wikis
I am a big believer in taking breaks, not so many that nothing gets done but not concentrating for overly extended periods is what works best for me.
This is what I added to the Wiki.
I can see this being of use for Teams who are working on projects, manuals, procedures, policies etc. If we are able to produce outside of the meeting framework but act as a group at the same time. This tool allows creating, adding, changing so that everyone sees the progress going forward.

Task #8 - Tagging
What a great tool! This was fairly easy to do, screens are clear and easy to read. I can use this at home as the favourites button is a very full list on both computers used by my daughters. Now the sites I want to use will be more convenient and accessible. Definitely if a group of staff are doing research all can share in what the group has found using delicious and appropriate tags.

Funny & Cute Video

Youtube is great for the library because it lets people share ideas, pictures, happenings or coming events - almost anything you wish.
